Sara Cannon, a Master’s student in the Department of Geography at the University of British Columbia, was in the Marshall Islands for the summer with a team of researchers intent on  measuring and photographing reefs. The hope is that when the data is analyzed it could show that reefs closer to the equator are generally more resilient than others.

On returning home, Sara was interviewed on CBC Radio’s show Quirks and Quarks (below), in which she tells lots of great stories, including one about catching a mega-fish with Captains Cary and Ronnie!

Sara has a great blog on all the things she did in the Marshalls, including some great footage of Majuro (see her bicycle tour below) and Ebon: SARA’S BLOG.
