Applications and Citizenship Rules
If you are a citizen, here is what you need to know about getting a Marshall Islands passport if you are in the United States. This information can also be found on the RMI Embassy in Washington DC website.
General Information for RMI Passport
The Office of the Attorney General of the Republic of the Marshall Islands has sole responsibility to issue and process a Marshall Islands passport. Therefore, you will have to fill out an application and mail it to the Office of the Attorney General in Majuro, Marshall Islands.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
2 passport photos (2×2) on WHITE BACKGROUND. Please write name of applicant on the back of each photo.
A copy of old passport (if applicable)
A copy of your I-94
Send a money order or check for the application amount (see below) and make it payable to the Secretary of Finance and mailed to the Office of the Attorney General. PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH.
Note: If you are applying from the US, your application will need to be mailed to the Office of the Attorney General in Majuro. See the mailing address below.
PASSPORT FEES (as of April 5, 2024, according to the Attorney General Bernard Adiniwin)
For children 12 years and below the cost is $50.
For ages 13 and above the cost is $100.
Rush Fee $50.
Replacement of lost or damaged passports that are still current is $200.
Passport with extra pages costs $150.
