The domestic airline, Air Marshall Islands (known as simply AMI), was established in 1980 with the current name adopted in 1989. The airline is wholly owned by the RMI government. AMI operates regular services from Majuro to several outer islands, generally on a weekly basis. Its fleet is made up of a Dornier 228-212 and a Bombardier HDC-8 Dash-8 Q100 (but simply called the Dash-8).

[su_box title=”INSIGHT” style=”soft” box_color=”#13497f” radius=”4″]If you are on a tight schedule, you may want to consider using Air Marshall Islands’ as their schedule is not always reliable. This is not to say the airline is unusable, but due to the difficulty of accessing parts and other issues, including pilot hours on occasion people have been stranded on outer islands. Best to chat with the staff and find out the status of the planes at your time of travel. Also note that a number of runways are closed due to maintenance issues. [/su_box]
