Finance and Money Movers

Credit cards: Only the larger hotels, restaurants and stores accept credit cards.
ATMs: There are three ATMs belonging to the Bank of Guam on Majuro. They are next to Ace Hardware at the RRE Uliga complex; inside the Payless Supermarket in Uliga; and next to K&K Island Pride Supermarket in Delap. On an irregular basis, but good to note is that the machines are sometimes out of cash or are broken.
Foreign exchange: It is extremely difficult to change currencies other than US dollars. The only likely way to exchange cash is to find a community from the currency’s nation, for example, Fiji or the Philippines.
Money transfers: These can be made through Western Union in the RRE office opposite RRE Hotel in Uliga. The Bank of Marshall Islands also has the MoneyGram service.
Wire transfers: Receiving or sending wire transfers can be expensive. Your best bet is Bank of Guam but check with staff before attempting a wire transfer.
Social Security: Retirement and health fund taxes are the domain of the Marshall Islands Social Security Administration, more commonly known as MISSA. See their website below:
