Marshalls Energy Company: I know it sounds a bit wacky, but if you’re into big and loud, a tour of the plant is fun. Best if you go in a group rather than just a couple of people. Call MEC on (692) 625-3827 and ask for details or contact them through their web site http://mecrmi.net/

Tobolar Copra Processing Plant:  You can call in advance and request a tour of the plant when it is in production (best to make it a group, rather than just one or two people). Visually, it’s a little like walking into the early part of the last century, but  is still an interesting visit and is good for photos.

As well as converting the copra to oil, which is sold in bulk, the organization sells a range of coconut products including refined cooking oil, soap, washing powder, and virgin coconut ‘beauty oil’. Call Tobolar on (692) 625-3116.
