Three-masted ship visits RMI
The three-masted barque rigged sail training vessel ‘Le Quy Don’ arrived in Majuro Sunday, January 3. It was built by a Polish shipyard in Gdańsk for the Government of Vietnam for Defence Force training purposes.
Its home port is Nha Trang, home of the Vietnamese Naval Academy. The 67-meter ship is named after a famous Vietnamese scholar, poet and philosopher Le Quy Don who living in the 18th century.
The vessel is used for traditional training activities in seamanship. The ship has four rowing/sail boats. It also has computerised classrooms with all necessary facilities have been arranged.
