When asked what we should call ourselves, co-founder Amy Ishiguru immediately came up with the phrase Lagoon Writers, which we all thought was perfect.<\/p>\n<p>Each member of our group has a different reason to belong: One wanted to improve the quality of her sailing blog, another to inject more creativity into her stories, yet another to explore the possibility of writing a novel with a teenage audience in mind.<\/p>\n<p>Each meeting ends with the choosing of a topic. When we meet on the third week, each author reads aloud the first paragraph or two of their piece and then the others give their thoughts one by one (although this often ends up in a group discussion).<\/p>\n<p>So, for your reading pleasure today, pasted below are a few of my stories that are the result of being a Majuro Lagoon Writer!
